A 77-year-old woman found dead inside her south suburban home died from stab wounds in an apparent homicide, according to an autopsy.
Authorities didn’t release the name of the woman found unresponsive at her home at 8500 S. Normandy Ave. in Burbank around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, but identified her as being 77. Public records show the homeowner as a 77-year-old woman.
An autopsy performed Wednesday determined that the woman died from multiple sharp force injuries in an apparent homicide, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
In a statement, Burbank police said they were conducting an active investigation into the homicide, but called the death an isolated incident that posed no threat to the public. Authorities didn’t say whether anyone was in police custody.
