Five students were rushed to area hospitals Tuesday afternoon after a bus rolled over on the Dan Ryan Expressway near Guaranteed Rate Field.
The single vehicle rollover crash happened around 2:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes at 35th Street, according to Illinois State Police.
The students, all teenagers had minor injuries, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Merritt said. Three were taken to University of Chicago Medical Center while the other two were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital.
Merritt said only five students were believed to be on the bus at the time. The bus driver refused treatment. No other injuries were reported.
Two lanes of the northbound interstate are closed currently. State police said no other information was available at this time.
