St. Xavier (34-12) is seeded fourth in the four-team Klamath Falls (Ore.) Bracket for the NAIA Opening Round Tournament in softball. The Cougars will play host and top-seeded Oregon Tech (47-7) at 6 p.m. Monday. The winner of the double-elimination bracket advances to the World Series in Columbus, Georigia, beginning on May 25. … St. Francis’ Danielle Callahan was named softball player of the year in the CCAC, Hannah Vachon was chosen pitcher of the year and Amanda Jensen coach of the year. Madison Tucker and Maddie Massaro were the other Saints named to the team. St. Xavier was represented by Morgan Haefling, Kaitlyn Wright, Sarah Bown, Lyda Robinson and Nicole Lovato.
