Wauconda police are investigating the death of a man apparently stabbed to death in his home, the department said.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the 72-year-old man.
Police said they were called to the 300 block of Stillwater Court at 1:23 p.m. Wednesday. After arriving, they found the man lying on the floor of the residence with apparent stab wounds. He was not breathing, police said.
The woman who lived there with the man reported the incident to police and is cooperating in the investigation, police said.
Wauconda police said they do not believe there is any threat to the public.
