A Buffalo Grove man was killed over the weekend when he lost control of his motorcycle on a Kenosha County roadway, according to Wisconsin authorities.

Scott E. Wicks, 54, was killed and a female passenger on his Harley-Davidson was injured in the single-vehicle crash, the Kenosha County sheriff’s office said.

The crash happened at 3:37 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of 312th Street, near Burlington. Police said as Wick neared the intersection with 7th Street, he failed to negotiate a curve. His motorcycle left the road and crashed into a ditch.

Police said the road was slick from a rainstorm.

Wick was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to a hospital with what police said were not life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
