The Wildcats were rewarded for their stellar body of work with the top seed in the Class 4A Barrington Sectional.

2. Stevenson 20-5 (2)

Scheduled to play Libertyville on Friday, likely for the North Suburban Conference title, the Patriots are the No. 2 seed at Barrington.

3. Deerfield 20-5 (4)

AJ Bassett showed muscle off the bench with six points and four rebounds in a win against Edgewood (Wisconsin) on Saturday.

4. Grayslake Central 23-4 (3)

The Rams’ road loss to Lakes on Tuesday created a two-way tie atop the Northern Lake County Conference standings.

5. Lakes 18-7 (6)

JJ Jackson had seven points, three rebounds and four assists against Grayslake Central, contributing a key steal and layup right before halftime.

6. Lake Forest 17-10 (5)

For the Scouts, who are the top seed in the Class 3A Grayslake Central Sectional, a semifinal rematch against St. Patrick looms.

Outstanding defense by Adam Panek was the silver lining in the Blue Devils’ loss to Lake Forest on Tuesday.

The Bears snapped a three-game skid on Tuesday with a road win against Mundelein.

The Sequoits are fighting their way through an injury bug, with Joey Neumann and Emmy Zamudio the latest to be sidelined.

10. Wauconda 13-11 (NR)

The tandem of Braeden Carlsen and Tyler Tylka combined for 36 points and nine rebounds in a win against North Chicago on Tuesday.

Stevenson junior forward Jack Dabbs averaged 15.3 points and 7.0 rebounds in three games, recording 16 points and 12 rebounds in a 55-31 road win against Waukegan on Tuesday.
