The body recovered Monday morning from the Fox River in Carpentersville has been positively identified by the Kane County Coroner’s Office as that of an Algonquin woman reported missing Sunday.
Kimberly Koerner, 52, of Algonquin, was found in the water near Bolz and Williams roads about 8:40 a.m., a news release from Coroner Rob Russell said. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday,

No information on a possible cause of death was provided but “there are no visible or overt signs of foul play at this time,” the release said.
Koerner was last seen about 9 a.m. Sunday walking outside a Jewel-Osco store at 1501 E. Algonquin Road, an Algonquin Police Department news release said.

The connection between the missing woman and the body in the river was made after they learned the victim was clad a white winter coat, the same color of coat worn by Koerner when she was last seen, Algonquin and Carpentersville police said.
Koerner had been reported missing by family members Sunday morning, and Algonquin police issued an alert after finding her purse, phone and keys in the parking lot outside the store.
The public’s help was requested in locating Koerner, who was described as standing about 5-foot-6, weighing about 130 pounds, having straight, black, shoulder-length hair and wearing a white winter jacket with a fur hood, pajama bottoms and sandals.
Police said they were told she was en route to the Jewel-Osco but they determined she never went inside the store.
“Multiple investigative efforts were made since (she went missing), including the use of drones and multiple K-9 units … deployed to aid those efforts,” a news release issued Monday said.
Doorbell camera images showed Koerner walking alone on Greenridge Avenue in the village, the release said. The neighborhood is south and west of the store and only a few blocks from the river.
No information on who discovered her body in the river was released.
