Highland Park mansion just steps away from Michael Jordan’s property listed for just under $2.8M

A recently built, contemporary-style 13,000-square-foot mansion in Highland Park that is just steps away from Chicago Bulls great Michael Jordan’s mansion has been listed for under $2.8 million.

Built in 2020, the six-bedroom mansion at the corner of Mavor Lane and Half Day Road is one street over from Jordan’s 56,000-square-foot spread on 7 acres on Point Lane, which now has languished on the market for over a decade and is stubbornly holding fast at a $14.85 million asking price.

One block west — and less than 1,000 feet from Jordan’s driveway — the recently built and never-occupied mansion on Mavor Lane previously was listed at $3.3 million in early 2021 before its asking price was cut to $2.99 million. It then came off the market for eight months before being relisted in April, again at $2.99 million. On April 28, its asking price came down to $2.79 million.

Situated on a 1.59-acre parcel, the mansion has 8-1/2 bathrooms, balconies and spa tubs for each bedroom, a kitchen with a separate breakfast room and a finished, 5,000-square-foot walkout lower level with a cinema room and a wine cellar. The home also has a fireplace in the foyer, an elevator shaft, radiant heating throughout the house — including in the outdoor courtyard — and an attached, four-car garage.

“To find a newer, 13,000-square-foot, move-in ready home with modern construction on 1.6 acres on the North Shore for under $4 million is almost impossible today,” listing agent Michael LaFido of eXp Realty told Elite Street.

The mansion’s property taxes have not yet been updated to reflect the value of the house, so the $9,790 in property taxes in 2020 were for the land value only.
