Strop got an opportunity in the bullpen as a replacement player when three Cubs relievers went on the COVID-19 injured list three weeks ago because of the league’s protocols. Strop appeared in two games, throwing two scoreless innings and earning a win April 13 in Milwaukee. The Cubs returned Strop, who is not on the 40-man roster, to the alternate site once players were activated from the COVID-19 IL.
