“While these are important precautions, our medical experts and CDPH see hopeful signs, including the lower number of cases identified this week — 60 overall, down from 97 — and with far fewer close contacts reported to contact tracing,” the university message said. “Experts at CDPH noted that UChicago is in a strong position to reduce the impact of these cases, thanks to widespread compliance with public health requirements as well as our robust system of surveillance testing and contact tracing.”
