Doses in vulnerable neighborhoods shouldn’t go unused, but they should be offered to people in those areas first, said Dr. Kelly Michelson, director of the Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Generally, it’s not “appropriate” for people from lower-risk communities to go to higher-risk ones, which have struggled more with COVID-19, for vaccines, she said.
