Sean Desai had a shotgun seat for the Chicago Bears’ defensive dominance under Vic Fangio in 2018. He’s eager to get them back to that level as their new coordinator.

With Fangio’s endorsement, Desai now takes the controls of a defense that has plenty of potential game-changers, a list that includes Mack, inside linebacker Roquan Smith, defensive lineman Akiem Hicks, safety Eddie Jackson and cornerback Kyle Fuller. Desai’s promise is to give each of them roles that accentuate their strengths and position them to more readily change games.
