About 7 a.m., an Oak Park officer was assisting Forest Park police at a traffic stop on Harlem Avenue above the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290), said Oak Park police spokesman David Powers. The driver of the pulled-over vehicle got out of his car and began shooting, and the Oak Park officer returned fire, Powers said.
