Balta, who also hosted the weekend “Chicago Tonight: Latino Voices” program, was reportedly placed on administrative leave last week because of social media posts. “This incident isn’t about shaming me for exercising w my son at home or a humorous parody on a movie (context deliberately excluded)…this is about muting giving voice to voiceless, making POC visible and speaking truth to power because it makes the establishment uncomfortable,” Balta tweeted Wednesday.
