Though the seven-day rolling average of positive cases in Chicago sits at a low-risk 3.4%, it is up from last week’s 2.9% and part of what Arwady described as an “outbreak (that) continues to worsen.” The daily average cases rose by 23% from last week, according to the city’s dashboard, showing a rise from 297 to 365 cases that can’t be attributed to more testing because daily tests only rose 3%, according to Wednesday numbers.
