“Probably the biggest news of all is the fact that aside from New York City being able to open movie theaters, Los Angeles County is opening movie theaters next week,” said Chris Johnson, CEO of Classic Cinemas, which owns Lake Theatre. “That’s the home of the majority of the movie studios. That’s been one of the key elements in all of our decisions is when are we going to get a flow of new releases to put in the theater. We think a combination of vaccinations, the reduced spread of the virus and the firming up of the movie release schedule all kind of coincide.”
