3. Don’t wait for employees of color to create workplace change: Racial justice will only be achieved when white people take it as seriously as its victims do. Yet, in workplaces, we typically see only employees of color advocating for more equitable policies or serving on diversity and inclusion boards. As a white co-worker, don’t wait for your colleagues of color to advocate for diversity and inclusion. Lobby your boss for diversity training, encourage HR to recruit more employees of color, comment when committees and panels include only white people, and call out racially biased treatment, racist comments and microaggressions.
