The five “no” votes Monday night came from Chicago Alds. Raymond Lopez, 15th, David Moore, 17th, Michael Scott, 24th, and Tom Tunney, 44th, as well as Cook County Circuit Court Clerk Iris Martinez. Moore, Tunney and Martinez bristled at the size of the proposed board but said they want to see some form of an elected CPS body. Lopez, meanwhile, said it was inappropriate for the party to vote on city issues instead of focusing on promoting candidates.
