18-year-old identified as shooter who wounded Chicago officer, security worker near Home Depot, officials say

The man shot to death by police after authorities say he shot the officer in the shoulder was identified as Travon Chadwell, 18, of the 6400 block of South Maplewood Avenue, a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office said Monday. Chadwell died from multiple gunshot wounds himself, after being hit by return gunfire from Chicago police, authorities said.
