Despite recent positive trends, the average number of new daily cases has spiked over the past week, hitting 1,853 as of Monday, up from 1,514 new cases per day a week earlier. That’s the highest seven-day average since the week ending Feb. 17, when the state averaged 1,960 cases per day.
