Half of Illinois residents 16 and over have received at least one COVID-19 shot, but restrictions not going away just yet

Officials reported 2,765 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, resulting from 81,133 tests. Over the past week, the state has averaged 2,945 new cases per day, falling under the 3,000 mark for the first time since an average of 2,982 was recorded April 7.
