Gas station clerk shot 3 times after confronting shoplifters at Far South Side gas station, police say

The 37-year-old clerk was shot in the gas station in the 400 block of East 95th Street about 8:40 p.m., according to a police media notification. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, initially in fair condition, police said. A BP gas station is at 400 E. 95th.
