According to a Lake Forest Police Department news release, just after 8 p.m. Thursday, Lake Forest police and fire department personnel were called to the Metra tracks at the intersection of Western and Laurel avenues following a report that an elderly woman had been hit by a northbound train on the Metra Union Pacific line.
