At 4:17 a.m., the Chesterton Fire Department was called to the scene of the accident in the area of 175 E. U.S. 20 in which Marcus McCoy, 23, the driver of the minivan, died at the scene, according to the Porter County Coroner’s Office and a release from Kevin Nevers, Chesterton’s public affairs liaison. McCoy was the only occupant of the vehicle.
