ComEd, Peoples Gas offering one-time credits of up to $500 in April for customers struggling financially during the pandemic

The relief is part of a broader consumer protection agreement negotiated by the ICC and the state’s largest utilities, including ComEd, Peoples Gas and Nicor Gas, to help prevent disconnections during the pandemic. The agreement requires utilities to notify customers they may be eligible for more generous deferred payment arrangements, and to extend their bill payment assistance programs through 2021.
