Chicago’s Northerly Island weather station knocked out of commission

Ogorek said the current Northerly Island station has data dating to 2006. Prior, a weather sensor on the peninsula initially only measured the dew point before it was upgraded to measure temperatures, Ogorek said, back when Meigs Field was still operating. A new sensor was then installed at Northerly Island, measuring temperature, dew point, winds and pressure.
