The boil order was issued “out of an abundance of caution,” Water Commissioner Andrea Chang said at a livestreamed news conference Thursday. While the station was down, the pressure in the water main dropped, which could have allowed contaminants to grow in the water. Analysis of microbiological samples found no such contaminants, according to the release Friday morning.
