When firefighters arrived at the Washington Park apartment building in the 6100 block of South Wabash Avenue Wednesday night, they found a 3-year-old boy at the window, ready to follow his big sister to the mattress below, according to the fire department. Firefighters used a ladder to reach the boy and successfully pulled him and a 2-year-old boy to safety, officials said.
