On Sept. 15, Lique was standing on a corner at Lawrence and Monticello avenues about 6:20 p.m. when attackers in a silver SUV drove up, police said. A passenger in the vehicle opened fire, and Lique was struck multiple times by gunfire, police said. Lique ran south on Monticello after he was shot, police said.
