“The primary reason is we were concerned, of course, about the neighborhood,” he said. “None of our guys wanted to get shot either, but we felt with him being in the house by himself, penned in there, we had the situation contained and there was no threat to the people outside. We didn’t want to kill anybody, so we felt patience was the way to handle this and get him to come out.”
